Teen Tech Week – Learn Create Share @ Your Library
Teen Tech Week 2010 is March 7-13! Teen Tech Week is a national initiative aimed at teens to encourage teens to take advantage of libraries’ nonprint resources. HPL is highlighting our Video Editing Station . . . have you always wanted to learn how to make your own movies? HPL has all the tools you need! Sign up for an hour slot and you’ll learn to create a “book trailer” that will be featured on our website. Monday the 8th 3-5, Tuesday the 9th 3-5, Wednesday the 10th 3-9, Thursday the 11th 3-6 or Friday the 12th 3-6. Slots are filled a first come, first served basis. Registration begins Monday February 22nd.

A practice test is crucial to ward off those Test Day jitters and to predict how you may score on the “real thing”. Don’t be surprised!! Come to the Library and experience firsthand what Test Day will be like. A representative from Kaplan will provide a proctored ACT practice test and return scores with analyzed results. Give yourself every opportunity of score success and of attending the college/university of your choice by enrolling in this program today! What are you waiting for?? Registration is open to Hinsdale Residents in 9th through 12th grades. Seats are very limited. Registration for both dates begins Monday, February 22 at 9 a.m in person at the Youth and Young Adult Services Desk or over the phone.
Hinsdale Public Library Film Festival 2010
The 3rd annual Hinsdale Public Library Film Festival is new and improved! This year we are stepping up the level of competition by making the Fest open to filmmakers of all ages. So, if you have a camera and an idea, enter for your chance to have your film premiered on the Library’s big screen on the evening of April 16th. $100 first place prizes will be awarded to winners in multiple categories including fiction, nonfiction, and animation.
Entries for the 2010 Film Festival will be accepted until March 19 and winners will be notified in early April. Winners and finalists will have their films shown on the Library’s big screen on Friday, April 16 at 7:00pm.
