We have materials in a variety of formats. The Business
Room (behind the Reference Desk) has an extensive collection
of books for in-library use on a variety of business topics.
Business books for checkout can be found on the top level
of the library and new books are on the main floor.

*Online subscription databases will be helpful in
these areas. Search the databases in the library
on computers located in the Business Room or from home
or work via the library's Web site with your Hinsdale Public
Library card number.
ReferenceUSA is a business and residential
directory searchable by various criteria, including SIC Code,
yellow pages heading, zip code, and sales volume.
Ebsco and ProQuest are
magazine and newspaper article databases. They contain the
full text of many publications, including business and trade
publications.
FirstSearch is a group of databases provided
by the Illinois State Library. One of these is ABI/Inform ,
an international business and management database that contains
abstracts and full-text articles from professional and trade
publications.
The library also subscribes to more than 20 different
print business magazines and other publications. These
are located on the first floor. Most back issues are available
for checkout.

- Online Subscription Databases - These
are available in the library and through the library's
Web site using your Hinsdale Public Library card number.
Covering subjects from genealogy to world events to biography
and literature, as well as business, the databases can
be accessed 24/7.
- Online Catalog - The library's online
catalog lists materials owned by the Hinsdale Public
Library and 76 other area libraries. You can also place
reserves and access your account. The catalog is also accessible
through the library's Web site.
- Interlibrary Loan and Photocopy Requests - Any
Hinsdale Public Library cardholder may place a reserve
on items from our collection or ask us to obtain materials
from other library collections.
- Personalized Instruction - We offer
individual training on the Internet and our databases.
Other Services for Business
Library Cards - Hinsdale Public Library
cards are available to residents who reside within the Hinsdale
corporate boundaries. Nonresidents who own property located
within the Hinsdale corporate boundaries may also receive
a card. Cards from other libraries are also accepted at the
Hinsdale Public Library to check out materials.
Web Hosting - The library provides free
Web site hosting to Hinsdale businesses and organizations.
For those without a Web site, the library's Web site service
provides an easy way for businesses to have an online presence.

Internet Access - High-speed Internet
access is available on public access computers located in
the Business Room. A wireless network provides Internet access
to individuals with laptops and can be used throughout the
library.
Meeting Rooms / Group Study Rooms - Meeting
room space is available to businesses for a charge of $20/hour.
The meeting room can accommodate up to 90 people and provides
kitchen facilities. The Storytime Room can accommodate 35
people. Both rooms offer audiovisual equipment. Small group
rooms holding 4 to 6 people are available free of charge
and are located on the first floor.
