Technology at the Library

Computers & the Internet
You’re welcome to use our public computers to access the Internet, search our subscription databases and to use the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, Access, Publisher and Powerpoint). While our computers don’t have floppy drives, they have front-mounted USB ports so you can use your flash drives. If you‘d like to purchase a USB flash drive, we have them available at the Circulation and Reference Desks for $6. We also have portable headphones for sale at those desks for $2.
Connect to the Internet throughout the building via your WiFi enabled laptop computer. You can even print from your laptop.
Print charges are $0.10 per page for black and white output and $0.50 for color, whether you print from one of our computers or from your laptop.
Photocopies
Our new Konica Minolta bizhub copier/printer will handle your black and white or color copies with ease.
It features an auto sheet feeder, double-sided output and excellent image quality. As with computer prints, copies are $0.10 per page for black and white output and $0.50 for color.
In addition to standard photocopying, we offer free scan-to-email service using the Konica Minolta bizhub. Just ask at the Information Concierge Desk or the Reference Desk for assistance.
The Konica Minolta copier/printer can be found facing the current magazine shelving and the Quiet Reading Room on the main level.
Fax Service
We recently added an outgoing public fax machine on the main level of the library. For domestic faxes, the charge is $1.50 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page (international rates are higher). You’ll need a valid credit card, as the machine does not accept cash. Please note: we do not offer incoming fax service at this time.
The fax machine can be found on the wall to the right of the Konica Minolta bizhub. It faces our large type and fiction shelving.
