Salt Creek Quilt Guild Celebrates National Quilting Day
Saturday, March 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Large Meeting Room
The Salt Creek Quilt Guild and the Hinsdale Public Library are celebrating National Quilt Day on March 20, 2010 with a quilting open house to benefit area homeless shelters and hospitals. The Guild will be at the Library from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will provide materials, sewing machines, and best of all, their expertise! Bring the entire family to help this good cause and to learn more about quilting: if you can tie a knot, you can help make a quilt that will keep someone warm this winter. Drop in any time between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and stay for as long as you like. Children under the age of 12 should be accompanied by an adult.

The 1960s brought many changes to the American art scene. Art Historian Jeff Mishur examines art of the period in New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Artists featured in this slide lecture including Roger Brown, Jim Nutt, Ed Paschke, Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, Bridget Reilly, Claes Oldenburg, and Ed and Nancy Kienholz.
