We would be thrilled to plan a special storytime just for you! We can come to your classroom, or you can bring your class to visit us.To request a visit either in our Library or in your school, fill out our Visit Request Form or call us at (630) 986-1976 ext. 501. Please call or complete the form at least two weeks in advance.

Give us a call at (630) 986-1976 ext. 501 or fill out our Materials Request Form if you need books for your theme-related units. We will choose a variety of titles appropriate for reading aloud or classroom use and set them aside. Then simply come to the Library and check out the ones you like best.

The Youth Services Department has a wide variety of specialized book lists. We can print some for you, your students’ parents, or even help create one for a topic of your choosing.

We would love to visit your parent or teacher meetings and present a brief booktalk of new or theme-related picture books. An annotated bibliography of the titles will also be provided. We could also host your meeting at the Library and include a tour of the department and our wonderful closet of storytime treasures. Please provide three weeks notice before an event. We would be happy to work with you to develop a topic that suits your needs.

Teachers, parent volunteers, and anyone else in need of some cool, cut-out shapes are welcome to use our Ellison Die. Bring your own paper and choose between many shapes-everything from an apple and a car to a strawberry and a wizard. It’s a great way to decorate classrooms or to use for art projects.

A selection of large format picture books (”Big Books”) is available for checkout by teachers.

The Library has many puppets and puzzles available for regular checkout by parents, teachers, and kids.
