Audiobooks

Our collection of fiction and nonfiction books on cassette and CD is constantly growing. Adult audio books can be found on the main floor, audio books for youth are located on the lower level and audio books for teens are on the top floor. Our audio books may be checked out for three weeks.

MP3 Players

Thanks to a donation by the Friends of the Hinsdale Public Library, we now offer books in MP3 player format through the ListenIllinois program. No special equipment is required-the Library supplies everything you need. We own four MP3 players which can be placed on reserve for Hinsdale cardholders. Each player can hold between four to eight books, depending on the length of each book.

Once you place a hold on an MP3 player you should go to www.listenillinois.org to select book titles you would like. Add the titles you want into a book basket you create on the site. You can view your basket at any time on the ListenIllinois site using your library card number and a PIN number that you select. (We recommend that you choose several titles for your basket because some audiobooks may be "checked out" at the time a player is available for you).

Once an MP3 player is available, the library will contact you and we will download your selected titles onto the player. MP3 player checkout is for two weeks, with no grace period. Overdue fines for the players are $1 per day.
