| The
Hinsdale Public Library is a great resource for the community-it
has something for everyone of every age. Ever wonder how you can support the Library?
There are several ways that you contribute your time
and money
Donations
Donations
and gifts are always welcomed to supplement the Library's
budget and your donation is an investment in the community
which will be used to enhance the Library's collections
and services. Financial donations can be made directly to
the Hinsdale Public Library.
Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed
by law.

Public Library Foundation
Donations
also may be sent to the Hinsdale
Public Library Foundation which is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization,
established in 2001, that provides support to the
Library by raising funds and seeking other contributions
from the community and business partnerships. To find
out about the various ways you can contribute to the Foundation, including planned giving, click on www.hplfoundation.org/how_to_give.htm. The Foundation
also sponsors programs and events such as its Speakers
Series and Astronomy
Nights. Volunteers are always needed to work these events.

Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Hinsdale Public Library have been supporting the library since 1975. They have books for sale for kids, teens and adults, plus, collectibles, audiobooks, music CDs, and movies. Everything is for sale year-round on their sale shelves which are located in the popular Music, Movies and Audiobooks section on the first floor of the library. Just turn to the right after entering and you’ll find something for readers of all ages at the Friends’ rock-bottom prices. From the proceeds earned throughout each year, the Friends generously pledge money to the library. One of the items most recently purchased is the Amazon Riverbed Aquarium in Youth and Young Adult Services. Learn more about the Friends
of the Library.
Memorials
Memorial
and Honorarium books are ways to remember someone special
and they also support the Library. These books may be in memory of a deceased
loved one, or they may celebrate a special event such
as the birth of a child, a birthday, or an anniversary.
Your donation is used to purchase such a book that then
becomes a part of the Library's collection. The book will bear a specialized bookplate
memorializing or honoring the person you choose. View
recent memorials. To request such a book,
contact Jo Ann Schusterich at jschusterich@hinsdalelibrary.info
Volunteering
Volunteering
your time is another way you can support the Library.
One such opportunity is the Adopt
a Shelf program whereby volunteers check the shelves
in various areas of the library to see if the materials
are in order and neatly arranged. If you are interested in participating in this
program, or to inquire about other volunteer opportunities
throughout the Library's departments at other times
of the year, contact reference@hinsdalelibrary.info.
