Fall Art Exhibit
After 34 years as a visual journalist at the Chicago Tribune, Hinsdale resident Thomas Heinz earned his MFA in Graphic Design at the University of Illinois in Chicago. As both a journalist and an artist, Heinz has explored the various ways in which the visual arts can be used to tell stories. In this exhibit, photographs taken in real time are combined and arranged chronologically. While traditional nature photography captures a moment of time, Heinz has captured the transitions — from subtle to spectacular — that occur as natural events unfold.
Open during regular library hours in the Quiet Reading Room.
September through November
Visualizing Time in Nature
Drawing upon his years as a visual journalist and his study of graphic design, artist Thomas Heinz will discuss the use of the visual arts in storytelling. Using examples from his Time Frames exhibition, Heinz will demonstrate how he used a simple digital camera to capture the unfolding of events in the natural world. Register at the Library, over the phone, or online. Refreshments provided by Whole Foods Market Hinsdale.
Friday, October 10 at 7:00 p.m.
