Summer Reading Clubs: June 6–August 8
Youth Services: Team Read
Kids and Teens
Whether you’re being read to, just learning, or reading huge trilogies, we have a reading club fit for you. Register online or at the Youth and Young Adult Services Desk, keep track of your reading, and earn prizes!
Adults (high school age and up)
Join a reading club this summer that’s tailored to your reading interests. You tell us what you like to read and our expert staff will create a custom reading list just for you. Or if you prefer to select your own, you can do that too. Register online, call or stop by the Adult Services Desk. To qualify for our weekly drawings of prizes, register each book you read (or listen to) with a staff member or online.
Summer Art Exhibit
Quick Paint is a collection of paintings created on
location at Rise Dance Center of Schaumburg. They are exhibited exactly as they were completed—in a matter of minutes—at the ballet studio. The artist’s goal was to remain representational while also retaining a loose brush stroke.
Lynn Allen has been creating art in one form or another her entire life. After receiving her degree in Fine Art from Drake University, Allen enjoyed a brief career in advertising before returning to painting. She has exhibited with the Plein Air Painters of Chicago and participated in various competitions locally. More of her work can be viewed at lynnallen-art.com.
Open during regular library hours in the Quiet Reading Room.
