The Library will be closed on Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day. No materials are due on these dates.

Homebound Delivery

We deliver books to your door! If you are physically unable to visit the library due to temporary or permanent illness, injury or mobility issues, the Library can come to you.

Use the Library to meet with a study group, find a quiet place to focus or to ask a librarian your last minute questions. Study rooms and group study areas are available during regular Library hours. Water, snacks, and supplies will be available during specified times.

Winsor-SunsetSummer Art Exhibit: Expressions in Color

Expressions in Color is a collection of watercolors that capture the ambiance, vistas, and details of cityscapes, landscapes, and portraits. The artist works from his own photography and lets his creative energy explore the patterning and transparent layering of watercolors.

Bret Steinhaus is a Midwestern, impressionist watercolor artist born and raised in Illinois, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design from Northern Illinois University. Over the past few years, he has exhibited work at the Union League Club of Chicago, Hinsdale Center for the Arts and the Elmhurst Art Museum.

New Services at HPL!
Text a Librarian & Zinio: Digital Magazine Subscriptions for your Tablet

Text a Librarian: The Library is excited to offer a new way to connect with you! You can now text your questions to a librarian. Text Hinsdale to 66746. You will receive an automatic response with directions on how to proceed. Message and data rates apply.

Zinio is a mobile reading application that offers some of your favorite magazines digitally. Your Hinsdale Library card will give you access to 22 magazine titles on your tablet, smartphone or computer. Visit Hinsdale Public Library’s Research Resources, enter your Hinsdale Library card number and click on the Zinio icon. After you create a Zinio account, you will be sent a confirmation email with directions.

Four laptops are available for in-house checkout at the Reference and Adult Services Desk. Two more Macbooks are installed in Youth Services for children’s use. All six laptops are loaded with iWork and Office for Mac software.
